What is a refurbished computer? When a computer is listed as refurbished, this means that the computer has been taken out of its original packaging and has gone through a recertification process to return it to its original working condition. Products may have been refurbished for a number of reasons, including but not limited to: customer returns, store demonstration units, shipping carton/packaging damage and minor cosmetic product defects. Regardless of the reason for the returned computer, it can no longer be sold as ¿new¿ because the packaging has been opened and the product has been handled by a customer or an OfficeMax employee. The returned computer goes through a thorough process in which it is restored to its original working condition and is tested by a certified technician.
